Melissa Tan
Melissa has an expansive network, both locally and internationally and is widely regarded as a trustworthy, discreet, and effective problem solver. She takes pride in being the first port of call for many business-owners, not-for-profits, and professional parties when problems arise.
Melissa's previous job experiences include The Guardian in London, followed by Mergermarket (now known as Acuris) and I-OnAsia Limited in Hong Kong, before founding Headland Intelligence in January 2021. She is also the Executive Director of Hong Kong Dignity Institute, an NGO commited to providing social care, mental health care and legal assistance to needy and vulnerable populations in Hong Kong.
Melissa was born and raised in Malaysia, holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University in Canada and speaks English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. She is a permanent resident of Hong Kong and has called this city home for over 10 years.
Han Shih Toh
Han Shih is a Singapore-born writer with over 20 years of experience in business journalism, and currently lives in Hong Kong. He is the author of a published book, "Is China an Empire?"", describing the rise of China's global economic influence.
Previously, Han Shih worked as a journalist at the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s leading English-language newspaper, for about 10 years. He has reported on a wide range of topics including corruption, fraud and money laundering, as well as on capital markets in Greater China and other Asian countries.
He holds a B.S. in physics from the California Institute of Technology and a doctorate in physics from Oxford University. He also has a Master’s of Southeast Asian studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and has completed a part-time Master’s of Economics at Hong Kong University.
